Effects on body drinking Coca Cola

There are plenty F&B outlets in Damansara Uptown where you can drink Coca Cola (except McDonald's Uptown which has closed). But if you read  what is written in infographic uploaded by TheRenegadePharmacist.com, you may think twice (content based on an article by Wade Meredith).

Here is a blow by blow account of what happens in your body within 1 hour of drinking a can of coke:

First 10 minutes
10 teaspoons of sugar hits your blody, but phosphoric acid cuts flavor and enable you to keep it down.

Within 20 minutes
Blood sugar and insulin spikes. Liver turns sugar into fat

Within 40 minutes
Caffeine absorption complete, pupil dilate, bloodpressure rises, liver dump more sugar into bloodstream, brain adenosine receptors blocked, drowsiness prevented

Within 45 minutes
Body up dopamine production, stimulate brain pleasure centers just like heroin

Within 60 minutes
Phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium, zinc in lower intestine, providing metabolism boost and compounded by high sugar and artificial sweeteners doses, increases calcium excretion in urine

Caffein diuretic effect cause need for urination, bonded calcium, magnesium, zinc evacuated instead of going to bones to build strong bones

Start to have sugar crash, you become irritable and/or sluggish, all water in coke with nutrients pissed away.
